Kung Fu Fan

Originating in Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), the iron fan (tie shan) disguised itself as an ordinary folding fan but had steel ribs for defense. Used by scholars, spies, and martial artists, it combined grace with deadly strikes, blocks, and pressure-point attacks. Styles like "Emei Fan" integrated fluid movements. Today, it’s a highlight of wushu performances, blending tradition with artistic flair—proving even a "gentleman’s accessory" could be lethal.
